The Basics
Why this blog? |
We live in challenging and often controversial times in North America. There is often a conflict between our self-interests and what our Christ-centered interests should be. This blog is an attempt to give some perspective for Christians as we face difficult and often divisive issues in our culture. My purpose is not to promote a specific political party or agenda but rather to look honestly at what the Bible says to our current issues.

Basic Definitions for The K.I.N.G. |
The - The kingdom refers to God’s kingdom and his kingdom alone. God’s kingdom is not “a” kingdom among many others of equal importance. There is one Kingdom and one alone.
Kingdom – Very simply, the kingdom is God’s rule over all. God is King and is in full control of all things. That means that all things must submit to him as King. While there are nations, empires and earthly rulers, all are under God’s control and all must give account to God as the only God and King. God’s kingdom overrides all others. All other rulers, governments and nations must submit to this Kingdom, whether they realize it or want to. Is – God’s Kingdom is real. It exists. This is not the stuff of mere history, fantasy or theory. It is fully real and revealed in the Bible, God’s revealed Word to us. Now – This real kingdom is real now and has impact and meaning for this world now. It is not relegated to a time past. It is relevant and current now and has much to say to us and to this world now. The kingdom of God must shape our views, our politics and our actions. Great – As much as we may desire greatness for ourselves, our culture, our nation or anything else, it is God’s kingdom that is now great and indeed the greatest. All we do as Christians should be pointing to and building this kingdom over all others. In summary, this blog seeks to put flesh on the first three petitions of the Lord’s Prayer: – Hallowed be your name. – Your Kingdom come. – Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. |
